At Vanity Fair’s Oscars party, nineties fashion made a big return — in more ways than one.
Helena Christensen, 55, shared that she actually wore something from the archives: a black and white gown that she first modeled on John Galliano’s spring/summer 1996 runway.
“So excited I was able to get back into one of my favorite dresses I’ve worn on the runway, 1996,” she captioned a series of photos of the sculptural one-shoulder black-and-white gown on Instagram.

“(corset not entirely closed up but that’ll be my little secret 😉),” the mom of one added jokingly, before thanking her makeup artist and hairstylist for “spending time with me yesterday getting me ready 💃🏻❣️”
Naturally, the fashion icon’s famous friends quickly took to the comments section, complimenting the star on such a stunning rewear.
“Glamour puss! Loved seeing you! 🔥” wrote Cindy Crawford, while Gigi Hadid also marveled at Christensen’s good looks. “Gorrrrgeous 💎” she said.
Even fans commented on the mom of one’s ageless appearance.
“Which photo is 96 ? 💜” one person asked while another said, “once a supermodel always a supermodel.”

Fans should note that Christensen’s look isn’t just reserved for the model who walked it down the runway way back when; the same design is currently available to purchase at Tab Vintage, priced at $10,985.
And she was in good company at the star-studded afterparty, where a number of archival ensembles managed to make their way to Vanity Fair’s red carpet on Sunday.
Barbie herself, Margot Robbie, revived a different look from 1996, showing off her long legs in a golden Mugler bodysuit while Sydney Sweeney traveled back in time with her outfit, too, arriving at the event in the same slinky Marc Bouwer gown that Angelina Jolie wore to the Oscars in 2004.
What’s old will always be new again.
